Literature Review

September 29th, 2008 . by Clivet

The reading undertaken centred around two main areas: firstly, there was the area the relaxation of membership requirements and its ensuing effect on the competition structure within the stock broking industry.

Secondly, but connected to the first area, there was the abolition of minimum commission charges and the resulting competitive climate which followed.

The third significant change which occurred during Big Bang was the amalgamation of the broking and jobbing functions was researched but the author found that the implementation of this dual capacity was working well and there was generally little mentioned on it (compared to the amount written about the other two changes mentioned above) and so this does not form a separate area of this literature review.
