UK Starting Business

About Us

UK Starting Business has been created to voice opinions on several of the aspects which affect the commercial operations in the United Kingdom. There is little attempt to define the parameters which the posts and commentary will be limited to.

Some of the salient areas discussed are the process of starting a business, company formation and the impact of the current global financial crisis. The latter could certainly not be ignored when expressing views on business start-up as the economic conditions have an affect both on the willingness of entrepreneurs to set-up and on how well they might fair once their ventures are up and running.

A comprehensive study of the Big Bang and the ensuing stock market crash of October 1987 has been reiterated because of the similarities these chain of events bear to the present financial climate and situation. Namely, that there was an extremely strong period of growth and prosperity followed by a substantial correctional slump in activity.

The site UK Starting Business is maintained by Simon Tate, the Chief Moderator and he invites members of the public and especially those engaged in some form of commercial activities to express their views.

Contributions must not be incendiary such as the extent witnessed in the presidential elections in the US, however we respect all opinions and provided comments are made on the basis of decency and appropriateness to the subject area, we will permit their publication.

Simon would wish to thank several people who were instrumental in producing this business start-up resource, particularly Adrian Goress who provided much of the content on how to register a company and a piece on the role of accountants for small businesses.

We are all very excited by this project and the openness and freedom of expression which it represents. It is certainly hoped that by sharing ideas and views all who visit the site will gain from some of the thought-provoking issues discussed.

Best regards

UK Starting Business.
